Boy Scouts of America: Today National Photo Contest

The Boy Scouts of America wants to see your photos! In celebration of the upcoming Boy Scouts of America 100th Anniversary Celebration we are collecting photos of your memories and adventures through Scouting for the chance to be published in a new book scheduled to release in October 2010.

The book, called Boy Scouts of America: Today, will visually depict the 12 Points of Scout Law: Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent. Anyone, even those not active in Scouting, can participate and there is no limit on the amount of photos you can submit. Winners will have their winning photo printed in the book; receive a copy of Boy Scouts of America: Today and a $50 gift card for official Scouting merchandise to be purchased through Scoutstuff.org or any participating Scout shop.

“The image should not just create a visual reaction, but must evoke a feeling about the point of the Scout Law for which it represents,” explains Roger Morgan, official BSA photographer. “We’re looking for photographs that create an emotional response.”

The Boy Scouts of America: Today National Photo Contest began on January 12, 2010. All entries must be received by March 31, 2010. The Scouting events pictures must have been taken within one year of the entry date. Click here to learn more about the contest and to submit your photos!
